It’s Showtime host Darren Espanto donned a blue pastel-colored suit with floral elements at the recently concluded ABS-CBN Ball, created by renowned designer Francis Libiran.

PUSH ABS-CBN had the opportunity to learn the story behind the outfit’s design in an exclusive room raid interview.

“My stylist and I, Kuya Rodel (Briñas) po, went to Sir Francis Libiran with an idea na, a vision that we had already on a mood board. And then he just brought it to life basically. He just started sketching on the spot. So this whole suit was made from scratch by Sir Francis,” Darren shared.

This year’s ball was extra special for Darren, as it marked his first time attending as a host of the flagship Kapamilya daily noontime show.

“It's officially been a year since naging host po ako sa (It’s) Showtime. So parang hindi siya work. It's just like hanging out. Parang barkada lang. Pamilya lang kami doon. Naglolokohan lagi and it's a lot of fun. Honestly, I'm grateful to be part of the (It’s) Showtime family po talaga,” he expressed.

The singer-host also shared what their dynamic is like behind the scenes. ”Everyday magkakasama po kami kumakain ng lunch. And that's really one of our bonding moments during commercial gap. We talk about life with each other, what's up with each other's lives, what's new, ganon.”

Darren also revealed which segment is closest to his heart.

“I guess one of my favorite segments ng (It’s) Showtime would be Sine Mo ‘To. Yung bumalik yung Sine Mo ‘To, sobrang saya ko.    Kasi parang isa yun sa mga segments na pinapanood ko nung bata pa lang ako. And then naging parte na ako ng ilan sa mga episodes. So Sine Mo ‘To would be one of my favorites,” he said.
