What happens when 17 children suddenly leave their homes in the middle of the night?

This is the hook for Zach Cregger's new horror movie "Weapons”, which comes out in cinemas in August 2025.

In the movie, the small town of Maybrook is rocked by the disappearance of 17 children who all left their homes at exactly 2:17 a.m. without being forced or abducted. All but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time.

"Weapons" stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, with Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan.

Cregger,  the wholly original mind behind “Barbarian”, directs from his own screenplay, and also produces alongside Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules, with Michelle Morrissey and Josh Brolin executive producing.
