Marvel Studios has unveiled the official trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, giving fans a look at the highly anticipated superhero film set to hit theaters on July 25.

Pedro Pascal leads the cast as Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, alongside Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Together, the newly formed team must navigate their dual roles as Earth’s protectors and as a close-knit family.

The trailer also offers a glimpse of two cosmic forces central to the story: the menacing, world-devouring Galactus, played by Ralph Ineson, and the mysterious Silver Surfer, portrayed by Julia Garner.

Fans online were quick to react to the trailer.

"Having Mr. Fantastic say 'We WILL protect you' is just FANTASTIC!" one fan commented.

"I love how that they are going with the 1960s aesthetic with this movie and it fits perfectly well for Marvel’s first family," another fan wrote.

Directed by Matt Shakman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps also features Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles in supporting roles.

Marvel officially announced the film on Valentine’s Day in February 2024.

Originally created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Fantastic Four comic book series became one of Marvel’s most iconic successes in the 1960s. It also served as a launchpad for numerous legendary characters and storylines, introducing the world to Doctor Doom, the Inhumans, Black Panther, the Kree, the Skrulls, Galactus, and the Silver Surfer.

In an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige emphasized the team's foundational role in the Marvel universe.

“[The Fantastic Four] is the foundation for everything that came after in the comics,” he said.

Kevin also hinted at the group's future within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"There's certainly been versions of it [on screen], but never inhabiting the storytelling of the MCU. And that's something that is really exciting for us. People will start to hear more about that soon. We plan on that being a big pillar of the MCU going forward, just the way they've been in the comics for 50 or 60 years," he teased.
