'It's Showtime' pays tribute to Nora Aunor, Pilita Corrales

<div><br/></div><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FitsShowtimena%2Fvideos%2F1401628200989713%2F&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=560&amp;t=0" width="560" height="429" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA -- ABS-CBN&#x27;s noontime program &quot;It&#x27;s Showtime&quot; paid tribute to screen and music icons Nora Aunor and Pilita Corrales on Monday, April 21.</p><p>Corrales, dubbed Asia&#x27;s Queen of Songs, passed away on April 12 at 87, while Superstar Aunor has died at the age of 71 on April 16.</p><p>&quot;It&#x27;s Showtime&quot; main host Vice Ganda opened the tribute for Aunor and Corrales who were both part of &quot;Tawag ng Tanghalan&quot; (TNT).</p><p>Aunor was Tawag ng Tanghalan&#x27;s 1967 grand champion, while Corrales served as judge or hurado of the singing competition.</p><p>&quot;Madlang people nitong mga nakaraang araw, kasabay ng ating pagninilay-nilay ay dalawang magkasunod na balita ang gumulat at labis na ikinalungkot ng sambayanan -- ang pagpanaw ng dalawa sa mga tinitingala nating institusyon sa mundo ng musika at pelikulang Filipino. Mga sining na pinagyaman ng Asia&#x27;s Queen of Songs at Tawag ng Tanghalan hurado Ms. Pilita Corrales and Tawag ng Tanghalan 1967 grand champion, Philippine superstar and National Artist of the Philippines for Film and Broadcast Arts Ms. Nora Aunor,&quot; Vice said.</p><p>&quot;Ang kanilang mga alaala at ambag ay mananatili sa ating puso&#x27;t isipan kabilang na ang pagiging bahagi nila ng pambansang kompetisyong patuloy na nagyayabong ng mga talentong Filipino.
