The highly anticipated Beatles biopic has officially unveiled its main cast, with Sony Pictures making the announcement during its presentation at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas on Monday, March 31 (U.S. time).

Paul Mescal has been cast as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.

"The Beatles changed my understanding of music. I’ve been trying to make a movie about them for years," director Sam Mendes remarked as per report by PEOPLE.

In a groundbreaking move, the project will consist of four separate feature films, each told from the perspective of one of the band members. The interwoven narratives aim to offer a multi-faceted look at the legendary group's journey.

Described by Sam as the "first bingeable theatrical experience," all four films are slated to hit cinemas simultaneously in April 2028.

Sam will helm all four films and co-produce through Neal Street Productions alongside partners Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor. Jeff Jones, CEO of Apple Corps Ltd., will serve as executive producer.

"I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies," Sam said in a press release by Sony Pictures back in February 2024.

Pippa added: "We intend this to be a uniquely thrilling, and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives which tell a single story about the most celebrated band of all time."

"To have The Beatles’ and Apple Corps’ blessing to do this is an immense privilege. From our first meeting with Tom Rothman and Elizabeth Gabler, it was clear that they shared both our passion and ambition for this project, and we can’t think of a more perfect home than Sony Pictures."

Formed in Liverpool in 1960, The Beatles became the best-selling music act in history, with over 600 million records sold worldwide. They released critically acclaimed albums such as Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The White Album, and Abbey Road.
