MANILA — Renowned film and TV director Joel Lamangan on Friday paid tribute to late actress Nora Aunor, as he revealed plans to produce a film about her life.

In a Facebook post, Lamangan shared some anecdotes about Aunor, whose real name is Nora Cabaltera Villamayor.

Lamangan and Aunor worked together on several movies together, including “The Flor Contemplacion Story”, “Muling Umawit ang Puso”, “Bakit May Kahapon Pa?”, “Sidhi”, “Hustisya” and “Isa Pang Bahaghari”.

He also shared that he and Aunor would have deep conversations before they start filming so they can have a better understanding of what they want for the film.

He also shared how Aunor would not tolerate seeing others being abused or experiencing injustice.

Lamangan, likewise, shared he and Ricky Lee have been talking about creating a film about Aunor’s life, but he laments that the actress died before the project is completed.

Aunor passed away on Wednesday, April 16, at the age of 71. No further details on the cause of her death were immediately given.

She started her entertainment career in the 1960s as a singer and was known for her "golden voice."
