When he first joined showbiz after leaving the Pinoy Big Brother house during its eighth season in 2018, Sky Quizon admitted he was not surprised when some fans thought he was related to the late comedy king Dolphy’s Quizon clan. With his mestizo good looks and talent onscreen, the summa cum laude from the UP Diliman boasts of an impressive resume way before he started working onscreen.

This month, he was recently introduced as part of the cast of the upcoming sports-themed romantic dramedy, Love at First Spike.

“So far, 2025 has been good so far. This is a huge blessing to be part of Love at First Spike. One year in the making din. Dapat magkakatrabaho kami ni direk Ivan (Andrew Payawal) supposedly last year meron kaming project pero hindi natuloy due to some restrictions and limitations. But now, nandito na kami and we’re just so excited to be working together especially dahil hindi natuloy last time. I’m looking forward to be directed by direk Ivan. And I’d like to believe that he’s also looking forward to directing me, too. Sobrang saya na eto na, nangyayari na,” he told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.

Not a newcomer to the Boys Love (BL) genre, Sky said he approaches each new role as a good challenge to his reach in acting.

“I’ve done a BL series before, Kamusta Bro the series and then I did one MMK shorts na LGBT din titled He Must Choose. I think you can stream that sa YouTube channel ng ABS-CBN. I think this is my third time playing a gay role but I’m just really so excited with the role that was given to me kasi I’m building the role from ground up, totally iba siya from who I am.

"Hindi ko puwedeng ilagay lang yung normal self unlike in my previous roles like in Viral Scandal and Kamusta Bro, and MMK Shorts na malapit sila sa kung sino ako kasi the femininity of the gay roles that I’ve played are malapit sila sa pagiging masculine but this time, sobrang layered nung character. In his mind, my character thinks he’s closeted na straight acting siya pero in reality, makikita ng tao agad na this person is gay. So nandun yung layer na yun. And then sophisticated siya,” he explained.

In his latest project, Sky said he was able to give a lot of input into how to shape the the character of the unaware Lucien.

“It’s a different representation of ano ba yung pagiging bakla. Iba’t iba yung pagkatao ng pagiging bakla in this one. It’s really difficult because I’m building this persona, si Lucien, kung paano siya gumalaw, yung sophisticated yet feisty at the same time, emotional at times pero very composed. So may mga ganung variations yung character kaya I’m so excited kung paano ko siya gagawin,” he added.

Love at First Spike is directed by Ivan Andrew Payawal, who known for films like The Panti Sisters and Gameboys. Love at First Spike is one of the headlining and original titles for the upcoming iWantTFC relaunch this June.
