May Bukas Pa (2009)

Starring then child actor Zaijian Jaranilla, May Bukas Pa remains one of the highest-rated Filipino TV series of all time. The story follows Santino, a kind-hearted orphan who can speak directly to “Bro,” a representation of Jesus Christ. With his divine gift of healing, Santino helps bring peace to the troubled town of Bagong Pag-asa.

According to ABS-CBN News, the series was the first primetime drama in the 2010s to run for over a year, peaking at a record-breaking 47.3% nationwide rating during its finale, based on Kantar Media/TNS data.



The ensemble cast includes Albert Martinez, Dina Bonnevie, Precious Lara Quigaman, Tonton Gutierrez, Jaime Fabregas, Dominic Ochoa, Maja Salvador, Rayver Cruz, and Desiree del Valle, with many celebrities making special guest appearances.

100 Days To Heaven (2011)

This heartwarming drama stars then child actress Xyriel Manabat and veteran actress Coney Reyes. The story revolves around a ruthless toy company owner who dies and is sent back to Earth as her childhood self to make amends for her past sins in order to enter heaven.

 The plot resonates with the Filipino belief that souls may linger on Earth before finding peace in the afterlife.

 The cast includes Jodi Sta. Maria, Dominic Ochoa, Smokey Manaloto, Valerie Concepcion, Rafael Rosell, and Joel Torre. Numerous well-known stars also appeared in the series, including Mark Gil, Gloria Romero, Tirso Cruz III, Pokwang, Vice Ganda, Judy Ann Santos, John Lloyd Cruz, and more.

 

 

Huwag Ka Mangamba (2021)

From Gold Squad to God Squad, then young actors Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin reunite to give hope and show miracles through faith to their town folks.

 Huwag Kang Mangamba tells the story of two young girls, Mira and Joy, who miraculously return to life after a tragic accident. Their renewed faith leads them on a mission to restore hope and belief in God in the town of Hermoso.

The star-studded cast includes Eula Valdes, Sylvia Sanchez, Mylene Dizon, Diether Ocampo, Enchong Dee, Angeline Quinto, Nonie Buencamino, Matet de Leon, Soliman Cruz, and RK Bagatsing.

 


The Bible (2013)

The series was filmed in Morocco to capture authentic biblical scenery and was created by husband-and-wife team Mark Burnett and Roma Downey (who also played Mary, the mother of Jesus).

The Chosen offers a fresh and emotional look at the life of Jesus, told through the eyes of the people whose lives He changed. It’s the first-ever multi-season series about Jesus’s life and teachings.
