Gerald Anderson returns to primetime TV. Ganiel Krishnan, ABS-CBN News 

MANILA -- After several years away from teleseryes, Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson is officially returning to primetime television with "Sins of the Father," the latest drama series from JRB Creative Productions set to air this year.

Anderson takes on the role of Samuel, a character he described as both challenging and perfectly timed for his return. 

"This is the perfect platform, the perfect vehicle para bumalik because syempre hindi naman tayo, lalo sa sitwasyon natin as a company hindi naman tayo maraming shows na napo-produce but when we do produce quality 'yan and hindi nakakahiyang ipakita 'to sa ibang tao," he said.

Joining him in the series are Jessy Mendiola and Shaina Magdayao. 

Magdayao shared that she was already planning to leave the country for other opportunities abroad, but the project came at the perfect moment and made her reconsider.

“It is an answered prayer... I've been praying for a reason to stay longer because there's an opportunity na medyo umalis muna ng Pilipinas and to pursue whatever it is na 'yong mga opportunities sa ibang lugar. But this project came and so kung ganito kaganda 'yong project, ang hirap niyang hindihan. So it is an answered prayer. Pagdating sa material, pagdating sa mga kasama ko sa show and also to be able to work with Direk FM Reyes, again,” Shaina said.

Also reuniting in this series are rising stars Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, who both admitted to feeling nervous about working with their co-stars. 

“Sobrang nakakakaba, nakakatakot. I mean, nakakatakot 'yung talents ng mga makakasama namin dito pero siyempre na-eexcite din kami kasi panibagong learnings to,” Diaz said.

Her onscreen partner, Fedelin, also aired the same sentiments: “First time namin sa unit na 'to. Si Kuya Gerald, Sir Tirso [Cruz III], first time namin makakatrabaho. Si direk FMR, first time din namin makakatrabaho. Andoon 'yong kaba, hindi mawawala 'yong kaba, takot, pressured kasi first time namin ulit."

Completing the powerhouse cast are JC de Vera, Joko Diaz, Tirso Cruz III, RK Bagatsing, Soliman Cruz, Nico Antonio, Jerald Napoles, and LA Santos.

"Sins of The Father" is under JRB Creative Productions with Business Unit Head Julie Anne R. Benitez and Creative Manager Dindo Perez.
