MANILA -- Cameras have started to roll for the much-anticipated historical biopic "Quezon," chronicling the life of Manuel L. Quezon, the President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines.

This was shared by TBA Studios via a social media post on Tuesday night, March 18.

"Just kicked off the Quezon film shoot today! Day 1 done, and we're already buzzing with excitement!" the post read.

Lead actor Jericho Rosales expressed his happiness seeing his working tent, which was curated based on the actor's preference.

"This is our working tent, they know I love plants. May monstera ako. Oh, this is crazy! Oh I love Quezon team. Thank you, thank you," Rosales said in a reel.

It was just last February when TBA Studios announced that Rosales would make his big screen comeback as Quezon in the film.

Early this week, the creators also announced that "Game of Thrones" actor Iain Glen is joining the film.

"Quezon" marks the continuation of TBA Studios’ cinematic “Bayaniverse”,  a series of films based on Philippine history that includes box office hits “Heneral Luna” and “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.”

The movie will follow the life of Quezon, a Filipino lawyer and soldier who became the President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944. It will highlight his tumultuous presidential campaign against then-President Emilio Aguinaldo.

Also part of the "Quezon" cast are Mon Confiado (Emilio Aguinaldo), Benjamin Alves (younger Quezon), Romnick Sarmenta (Sergio Osmeña), JC Santos (Manuel Roxas), Karylle (Aurora Quezon) and Cris Villanueva (older Joven Hernando, the only fictional character in the film series).

The  biographical historical movie will be shown in Philippine cinemas this 2025.
