Leo Consul,  a Filipino actor based in Jakarta, is starring in the Indonesian romantic-comedy "Bukan Jodoh Biasa Nih (Not Your Ordinary Soulmate)."

On March 7, Consul graced the movie premiere held at Cinema XXI at the Pondok Indah Mall 1.

Officials from the Philippine Embassy and a group of Filipinos were among the invited audience during the by-invite only premiere.

In the movie, Consul plays the role of Jovan, a Filipino student in Indonesia. He delivered a few Tagalog lines to the delight of some Filipinos watching.

"It's a rom-com movie and adventure also rolled in one. So it's a very light movie lang. We encourage you to just have fun and don't like fun too seriously. Let's just have fun through this movie," Consul said in an interview.

"Bale hindi po sinasadya 'yon actually. May mga moments na sobrang natural ng scene. Lumalabas ang pagka-Filipino natin so sabi nila,m 'sige gawin mo lang. Tagalog na lang natin para may konting flavor din since ang role ko naman dito ay Filipino. At the end of the day the director and the producers they liked it so it's a proud moment for me also na mapanood ng Indonesian na may naririnig sila na Tagalog. Filipino represent," Consul said about his Tagalog lines in the film.

"Bukan Jodoh Biasa Nih" is scheduled for theatrical release on March 13.

Consul was one of the stars of hit 2021 Indonesian series "Terpaksa Menikahi (Forced Marriage)."

He started working as teacher in Indonesia before becoming an actor there.
