MANILA -- Mon Confiado has been in the industry for years, and every time he appears on screen, the audience is captivated by how he manages to carry off roles that are so different from his daily life.

According to Confiado, who spoke to ABS-CBN News during the grand presscon for his latest film "In Thy Name" directed by Ceasar Soriano, every role is a challenge for him, big or small.

The veteran actor stars as Abu Sabaya, the ASG spokesperson notorious for his excessive cruelty to hostages, in the film, which is produced by GreatCzar Media Productions. Abu Sabaya is alleged to have taken an interest in one of the professors they were holding captive.

When asked why he accepted the role, Confiado replied, “Artista ako. True to life rin.

The seasoned actor, whose acting approach has been recognized by numerous award-giving bodies, also explained why method acting is always effective for him as an artist.

Of course, nag-immerse rin ako rito.

He went on to remark that not all actors believe in method acting.

“Maraming hindi naniniwala sa method acting. Even sa Hollywood, Maraming against diyan. Sabi nila, bakit kailangang i-experience ‘yung mararamdaman ng karakter, e, kaya nga akting so ibig sabihin, uma-acting ka lang,” he expressed.
