Esports host Mara Aquino bid farewell to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) - Philippines scene in a heartfelt Facebook post.

After four years, she announced her exit from the league, noting that the MPL scene has been like home and a way of life for her.

“Walking away from something you love is never easy, and MPL has been more than just a job for me—it has been my home, my family, and my life,” she wrote.

She continued, “For almost four years, I have had the privilege of standing on that stage, watching dreams come true and feeling the heartbreak of those who fell short. I have announced champions, seen tears of joy and disappointment, and shared moments that will forever be part of esports history. Together, we have celebrated victories and endured painful losses. Every moment we’ve shared means the world to me and I will carry it with me always.”

Mara openly admitted that letting go of her hosting stint was not easy, but noted that it was time.

“I’ve come to realize that it’s time for me to step away. This choice was not made lightly, but in my heart, I know it’s the right one. Letting go is never easy, but I believe that growth means allowing ourselves to evolve, even when it’s uncomfortable. It means embracing the unknown and having the courage to recreate ourselves when we know, deep down, that it’s time for change. And while this decision is difficult, I know in my heart that it’s time,” Mara added.

The host also gave a special shout-out to her fellow casters and the entire production team who worked behind the scenes.

“To the casters who brought the hype, to every player I interviewed, to all the teams who poured their hearts into every match, and to the incredible MLBB community—thank you. You made every game, every moment, feel larger than life. You are the reason I came to work every day, giving everything I could. To the league ops, production team, and staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and to everyone I shared laughs with in the media room—thank you for making MPL feel like home,” she expressed.

In the end, Mara assured her supporters that it’s not a goodbye for good and expressed excitement for what’s coming next.

She shared, “This may be goodbye to MPL, but it’s not goodbye forever. I hope you’ll continue to support me in whatever comes next because, just like in the games we love, every ending is just an opportunity to respawn and start fresh. Keep it good vibes, everybody! ...And I'll see you next time!”

The post received a variety of reactions, mostly filled with well wishes for the host.

Fellow caster Manjean Faldas commented, "Maraming salamat, Mara! Lahat 'Pasok' dahil sa'yo!! GLHF and takits sa future!"

Another co-caster of Mara, Uomi, also expressed his gratitude and admiration for the person he looked up to as a big sister.

“Thank you for always being our ate that looked out for all of us. See you soon Mara!!” Uomi shared.

Even the current MPL and MLBB M6 World Champions, ONIC Philippines, sent their support.

“Thank you and we’ll miss you, Mara! Thank you for the memories,” they expressed.

Mara first joined MPL in its seventh season in 2021. From then on, she became a regular presence, even hosting major events like the M3 World Championship in Singapore later that same year.

However, Mara, who also won Best Filipino Talent for MPL Philippines Season 12, was notably absent from the M6 World Championship in 2024 for undisclosed reasons.
