The return of "Daredevil" on Disney Plus marks an exciting moment for fans worldwide. Now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the series brings back Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, characters that have left a lasting impact since the original Netflix series concluded in 2018.

Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprise their roles in Daredevil: Born Again as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, characters they have embodied for a decade.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News, Cox revealed that a significant time gap exists since the events of season three. During this period, Matt and Fisk have avoided direct conflict.

"Wilson Fisk has been outside of the city, maybe in hiding a little bit," Cox notes. However, Fisk’s reappearance in New York disrupts this fragile peace, reigniting tensions.

Vincent D’Onofrio discussed Kingpin’s journey, highlighting personal challenges, especially in his domestic life. This season, Fisk is running for mayor of New York, navigating a complex political landscape while striving for power. This ambition is complicated by his desire to appear legitimate, a stark contrast to his past filled with illegal activities.

Fisk's relationship with his wife is a central theme this season. "He has a lot of explaining to do," D’Onofrio explains. Fisk's attempt to lead a "clean" life clashes with their history of crime, creating tension and conflict at home. This internal struggle adds depth to Fisk’s character, as he endeavors to reconcile his ambitions with his past.

Playing Daredevil for over 10 years, Charlie Cox embraces the physical demands of playing a superhero. “Just because I’m 10 years older. But it's such a gift to have a job that allows me to engage in that aspect of the filmmaking process. I really enjoy the the stunt sequences, it's like a childhood dream to play a some sort of superhero. I’ll never complain, you get a few aches and pains along the way, that’s part of the course,” he shares. Trusting stunt coordinator Philip Silvera, Cox says, "He makes me look very cool."

The series teases exciting Marvel cameos, though Cox remains secretive about the details. D’Onofrio, however, expresses a desire to see Kingpin face off with Spider-Man in the future, a thrilling prospect for fans.

Reflecting on a decade of portraying these iconic characters, both actors shared how the roles have profoundly altered their lives.

"I got on a plane in 2014 to come over from London to do one job, and I've never left. I've been here ever since," Cox shares. "I'm an American citizen now. I met my wife on this job, and I have kids. We live just outside New York. Playing this character has been one of the great honors of my life. It’s changed everything."

"Every good role that I get changes my life in some way, and this is a hell of a role that they've let me play," D’Onofrio reflects. "The challenge of playing this part and getting this show right with Charlie has changed a lot for me. It certainly made me busy, so in that way, it’s changed things in a good way. I love the work. I love this show."

D’Onofrio encourages fans to enjoy the series, promising an exciting adventure as “Daredevil: Born Again" premieres on March 5 on the streaming platform Disney+. The show is set to deliver the intense action, drama, and complex character dynamics that made the original series a standout hit seamlessly blending its gritty storytelling with the expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe.
