‘Sustainable Living’ boasts local heroes of nature in latest season

The latest season of Sustainable Living will showcase several individuals and groups behind innovative and climate-friendly projects. Hosted by Marc Nelson, Sustainable Living: Heroes of Sustainability is a production of Metro Channel for its Sustainable and Regeneration Campaign. 

This new season is in partnership with First Philippine Holdings and will feature the eco-tourism spots, sustainable products, and innovative solutions that will get the viewers inspired to make lifestyle changes that’s beneficial for the environment.  

In the first episode which aired earlier this month, Marc had the chance to have a conversation with Illac Diaz, founder of Liter of Light. The social enterprise proves to be a game changer as it transforms discarded plastic bottles into solar lamps at a low cost.

The lifestyle host then interviewed Anna Lagon, co-CEO and chief creative officer of Bayo–– the first Filipino fashion retail brand to join the United Nations Global Compact. In its latest episode, viewers were treated to the success story of Jordy Navarra’s Toyo Eatery which won a Flor De Caña Sustainable Restaurant Award.

After interviewing several businesses mostly based in mainland Luzon, Marc will travel to the island of Palawan in the upcoming episode this February 23. Viewers will be taken on a trip to the rich scenery of the Earth School in El Nido which was founded and headed by David Esteban.

The latest episode will showcase the school that was built with bamboo walls and is one of the first to have a sustainable and eco-conscious education. 

The March 2 episode will get viewers excited as the founding farmer, CEO, and president of AGREA Agricultural Systems International, Inc. Cherri Atilano will show how their program could help eradicate poverty for farming and fishing families, alleviate the effects of climate change, and establish food security in the country. 

Sustainable Living: Heroes of Sustainability airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. on the Metro Channel which is available on Sky Cable channel 52 (SD) and 147 (HD), Cignal channel 69, and GSAT channel 70. Viewers who wish to watch on the internet could also do so through the Metro.Style channel on YouTube.
