Days after the fourth season wrapped up, the streaming giant announced in a press release that production for the fifth season was underway.

"We’ve made it to Season 5 thanks to the immense love and support from our viewers," producers  Kim Jae-won, Kim Jung-hyun and Park Suji said in a joint statement.

"Season 5 will be filled with new excitement and romance," they teased.

Netflix did not say when the fifth season would premiere.

"Single's Inferno," which began streaming in 2021, follows a group of single people who are brought to a deserted island with the aim of finding romance. Participants must also pair up to escape the island, called Inferno, and spend a night at a luxury hotel referred to as Paradise.

Apart from the participants, the show also features a panel of hosts — Hong Jin-kyung, Lee Da-hee, Super Junior's Kyuhyun, Hanhae and Dex — who provide commentary to the events in Inferno and Paradise.

The first season made history as the first Korean unscripted show to break into the Global Top 10, while the second season amassed over 65 million viewing hours, staying in the Top 10 for four weeks, Netflix said.

The third installment stayed in the charts for five consecutive weeks while the recently concluded fourth season achieved the highest first-week viewership in the franchise, according to the streamer.
