MANILA -- Actress Beauty Gonzalez, the lead star of the film "Paquil," recently introduced to the entertainment press her daughter Olivia Crisologo, who is making her film debut in the movie.

“Si Direk kasi naghahanap ng batang ako. Okay ‘yung daughter ko. Kapag dating namin sa set, nagkaroon ng linya, biglang iiyak (for a scene). Ako ‘yung mas kinakabahan sa kanya. Andun naman si Norman (her husband) and ‘yung yaya. We were all there to support her. Nairaos naman namin. She did one take lang," Gonzalez said.

"‘Yung pakiramdam ng nanay na proud. Naiyak na rin ako. Nakakatuwa. Totoo pala ‘yung feeling na ganoon. I’m just so happy na she got to experience and she got to think kung anong gusto niyang gawin. She realized na mas gusto niya munang mag-school. Maybe kapag malaki na siya (to enter showbiz),” she added.

The actress also praised her leading man, JM de Guzman.

“Mas naa-amaze nga ako sa kanya. Mata-mata lang siya. Hindi ako nakakasabay sa kanya. He has the most beautiful eyes. Those eyes na minsan ko lang nakikita sa actors. They don’t need to talk. Their eyes say a lot,” she told the media.

Gonzalez arrived in style, wearing a 100-year-old attire from a vintage shop on Escolta Street in Manila. Her outfit reflected the film's theme of celebrating culture, art, and tradition.

“Paquil” tells the story of Christina who is at a crossroads while returning to her roots in the historic town of Pakil. Despite personal and professional problems, she is motivated by a passionate desire to restore Pakil's beloved but fading legacy of komedya, a traditional theatrical form that has long been associated with the town's rich past.

Christina's journey becomes more complicated yet significant when she meets the weird yet charming Paolo.

Christina and Paolo form a deep connection because they share a goal for salvation. In their efforts to restore the Komedya to its former splendor, they not only rebuild the town's cultural identity, but also find healing and optimism within themselves.

"Paquil also stars VJ Mendoza, Kych Minemoto, Arnold Reyes, Leandro Baldemor, Lui Manansala, Angela Cortez, Iyah Mina, Bambi Rojas, Star Orjaliza, Joel Saracho, Lou Veloso, Nino Mendoza, Argel Saycon and Lilet Esteban, and introducing Olivia Crisologo.

"Paquil," written by Archie del Mundo, directed by Lemuel Lorca, and produced by Resiko Entertainment Productions, Vincent Soriano, Art Cabral Capito, Myrna Hernandez Soriano, Marilyn Cadag, and Pamela Villanueva, will be released in Philippine cinemas on February 12.
