MANILA — “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo”’s episode Monday night saw the curtain call for the characters of Lorna Tolentino and Lito Lapid - Amanda and Supremo.

Caught in a bloody crossfire, Amanda saw General Agustus Pacheco, played by Julio Diaz, aiming to shoot at Supremo. She ran and shielded Supremo from the bullets and sacrificed herself.

Similarly, when the shootout continued, Supremo sacrificed also himself and caught the bullet fired by Pacheco towards Tanggol.

Thinking that Supremo was already dead, Pacheco approached and aimed his rifle at Tanggol’s face. But with his last breath, Supremo made one last attempt to stab Pacheco while the general was about to pull the trigger.

Lapid, Tolentino and Diaz all bid farewell to their characters.

During their last taping day interviews, Lorna recalled her unforgettable scene in the two-year run of “Batang Quiapo”.

The award-winning actress just came from a trip overseas and caught the covid bug that made her breathing a bit challenging. When she reported back to work, - “Ang nangyari action scene, sobrang init. Sabi ko ‘sandali, hindi ako makahinga’. Muntik na Talaga akong himatayin. so, kailangan tumigil.

Would she have wanted a happy ending for Primo and Amanda?

Lapid praised Coco Martin as a director and producer of this top-rating show.

What he liked about Coco’s vision in creating characters for Batang Quiapo is that, “Pag binigyan ka ng role ni Coco, nagmamarka.

He added that Coco’s leadership and dedication are two of the things that catapulted ‘Batang Quiapo’ to what it is today.

A staggering 726,006 peak concurrent viewers watched the heartbreaking episode Monday night, over at Kapamilya Online Live on Youtube.
