More popular K-drama stars have joined the cast of a series headlined by Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo, further elevating its star power, Netflix announced Monday as it revealed it would stream the highly anticipated show.

In a press release, Netflix said Kim Seol-hyun, Cha Seung-won, and Lee Hanee have joined the cast of the series with the working title "Show Business."

Korean media previously reported that the project, which generated buzz for casting Gong Yoo and Hye-kyo as its leads, began filming in January.

Set in the gritty and intense world of the Korean entertainment industry during the 1960s and 1980s, the series follows "the journey of individuals who, despite having little, dreamed of glimmering success and gave it their all," Netflix said.

In the series, Hye-kyo, known for starring in the revenge drama "The Glory," will play Min-ja, described as a resilient woman shaped by a tough childhood. She is determined to make her mark in the Korean music industry.

Gong Yoo, whose notable past works include "Goblin" and "Squid Game," takes on the role of Dong-gu, Min-ja's childhood friend who follows her into the music industry. Though reckless and unpredictable, Dong-gu has a soft spot for Min-ja.

Seol-hyun, who rose to fame as a member of the K-pop girl group AOA, will portray Min-hui, who has a love-hate relationship with Min-ja since their childhood.

"Our Blues" star Cha Seung-won portrays the brilliant composer Gil-yeo, while "The Fiery Priest" actress Lee Hanee takes on the role of Yang-ja, Min-ja's mother and an aspiring singer.

The series is penned by famed screenwriter Noh Hee-kyung, who wrote other hit dramas such as "It's Okay, That's Love" and "Our Blues."

Netflix has yet to reveal the show's premiere date.
