MANILA -- Award-wining actor Mon Confiado is returning as Emilio Aguinaldo in the biographical historical movie "Quezon," chronicling the life of Manuel L. Quezon, the President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines.

This was announced by Confiado via a social media post on Friday, January 31, as he uploaded snaps of his script taken during the cast's table-read session.

"Project Q All Star Cast Table Reading Filming Soon," Confiado captioned his post.

Two weeks ago, TBA Studios announced that the production of "Quezon" is set to start in March with a target theatrical release set later this year.

"Quezon" marks the continuation of TBA Studios’ cinematic “Bayaniverse” — a series of films based on Philippine history that includes box office hits “Heneral Luna” and “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.”

The movie will follow the life Quezon, a Filipino lawyer and soldier who became the President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines from 1935 to 1944. It will highlight Quezon's tumultuous presidential campaign against then-President Emilio Aguinaldo.

Confiado also played Aquinaldo in “Heneral Luna” and “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.”

Jerrold Tarog, the director and co-writer of “Heneral Luna” and “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral,” is set to return to direct “Quezon.”
