Titled "Melo Movie," the series follows the "rekindled romance" between cinephile-turned-film critic Ko Gyeom (Woo-shik) and budding director Kim Mu-bee (Bo-young), Netflix said in a press release.

Gyeom and Mu-bee were drawn together in the past, but an event kept them apart until they are reunited and forced to confront lingering wounds and reignited feelings, the streamer said.

The series also stars Lee Jun-young (from the films "Love and Leashes" and "Badland Hunters") as Hong Si-jun, Gyeom's best friend who is an aspiring musician, and Jeon So-nee ("Parasyte: The Grey") as Son Ju-a, a screenwriter and Si-jun's ex-girlfriend.

"Melo Movie" is directed by Oh Choong-hwan, who also helmed series such as "Hotel del Luna" and "Start-Up." It was written by Lee Na-eun, who penned the drama "Our Beloved Summer."

Woo-shik is known for starring in films such as "Train to Busan" and "Parasite," and the series "Our Beloved Summer," while Bo-young is widely recognized for playing the titular role in the drama "Strong Woman Do Bong-soon."
