Photos from of Netflix K-content's Instagram accountThe hit South Korean boxing drama "Bloodhounds" is coming back for a second season with K-pop star Rain joining the cast as a villain, Netflix said Thursday.

In a statement, the streamer announced the production of the new season, adding that Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi would return to reprise their roles from the first season.

The first season of "Bloodhounds," released in June 2023, followed boxers Gun-woo (Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (Sang-yi) as they joined forces to take down a ruthless loan shark organization.

In the second season, Gun-woo and Woo-jin face off against an underground boxing league led by Baek-jeong, played by Rain.

Netflix also dropped photos of the three actors in what appears to be a table-read session.

Netflix has yet to disclose the season's premiere date.

Based on the webtoon of the same name, "Bloodhounds" ranked among Netflix's Top 10 in 83 countries, according to the streamer.
