MANILA -- Actor Janno Gibbs, who will be leading VMX’s first gag show “Wow Mani,” defended the streaming platform from actor turned Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s claims that it is showing pornographic material as well as exploiting its performers with low wages.

Gibbs, however, clarified that VMX is a private platform and is accessible only to adults.

“Senator Jinggoy is doing his job, he is doing it very well. He has all the right sa opinions. Ako personally, opinion ko VMX is not a public viewing venue. It is a private venue. Magbabayad ka. 'Di public eh. Naka-childlock eh, you need a card,” he said during the press conference of “Wow Mani,” held in Quezon City, Thursday.

Gibbs added that the content VMX carries is similar to other streaming services.

“There is nothing on VMX you cannot see on Netflix. Se-censor din ba nila? Sometimes more sa Netflix,” he reasoned.

Gibbs also said he believes VMX is a launchpad for new talent and that it is an opportunity for them to work with seasoned professionals that can help accelerate their careers.

“VMX has given these girls what they don't get in other field, mainstreams. For a lot of them, this is a great stepping stone dami binibigay na trabaho ng VMX... Most of the movies are directed and written by well regarded directors and writers... Quality-wise maganda siya,” he said.

Gibbs will be leading "Wow Mani," a sexy gag show featuring “steamy skits, cheeky humor, and mature laughs” that seeks to take comedy to the next level.

Joining him are Jenn Rosa, Denise Esteban, Zsara Laxamana, Chloe Jenna, Sunshine Guimary, Krista Miller, Yda Manzano, Skye Gonzaga, Salome Salvi, Christy Imperial, Sahara Bernales, Ada Hermosa, Candy Veloso, Lea Bernabe, Aliya Raymundo, Angeline Aril, Jonica Lazo, Sheena Cole, Nicco Locco, and Aerol Carmelo.

“Wow Mani” premiered on January 7 and will be streaming new episodes every Tuesday.
