ABS-CBN is eyeing to release more films globally, with a strong focus on romance and family drama.

In an interview with Variety, ABS-CBN Films Head Kriz Gazmen shared the company's vision on further going global following the box-office success of Hello, Love, Again.

"What we want to export or highlight to the rest of the world is what makes the Filipinos great as a people," Kriz said.

He went on: "We’re very big on our love stories. We’re very proud of our love stories, and I think that’s a very good entry way for us to the global market."

ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak remarked that the company wants to "stay true to what makes us unique as a culture."

He highlighted: "The two things that have done very well for us traditionally have been romantic comedies and family stories. At the heart of Filipino culture is a very, very deep connection with the family."

This year, ABS-CBN Films will start distributing movies in Europe aside from North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.

Among the film outfit's offerings will be And the Bread Winner Is… and My Love Will Make You Disappear.

Back in November, Hello, Love, Again became the first Filipino movie to gross more than ₱1 billion pesos at the box-office worldwide.

"We love you a billion times. Hindi namin ini-expect na aabot po ng ganito 'yung gross income ng Hello, Love, Again globally. No words can say how grateful we are. Maraming-maraming salamat po," star Alden Richards said about the success of the film in a previous interview.

Kathryn Bernardo added: "No words po we are just extremely grateful. Thank you  sa lahat nang sumusuporta sa movie, sa lahat ng mga kababayan natin. Grabe, parte kayo nito. Thank you for making this happen. Thank you for making this possible."

ABS-CBN partnered last year with film distributor Abramorama to distribute Hello, Love, Again in 200 to 250 cinemas on opening day across the US and Canada on November 15.

The movie had the biggest North American theatrical release for a Filipino film.
