MANILA -- Screen veteran Edu Manzano has signed off from his character Vittorio Buenavidez in the hit ABS-CBN series "Lavender Fields."

In a short video released by show producer Dreamscape Entertainment, Manzano shared why it was hard for him to portray his villain role for the Jodi Sta. Maria-led series.

"Huwag sana kayo magkaroon ng isang Vitto sa buhay niyo. ... Ang hirap gumanap na Vittorio Buenavidez because 'yung mga  ka-eksena ko ay mga kaibigan ko. People I like very much," Manzano said.

"Vitto's incumbent upon all of us to give our best," he added.

Before the video ended, Manzano signed off from his character: "This is Vittorio Buenavidez now signing off. At, maraming salamat sa inyong panonood."

In Thursday's episode of the show, Vittorio told Tyrone (Jericho Rosales) that he will fulfill his daughter Iris's (Janine Gutierrez) vendetta against Jasmin (Sta. Maria).

"Kaya ang maibibigay ko sa kanya, to see the fulfillment of her vendetta. ... Ano naman ang magagawa mo? I promised Iris hindi kita sasaktan so I let you live to see the day Jasmin Flores dies," Vittorio told Tyrone.
