MANILA -- During the media conference of her upcoming MMFF movie ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’, Vice Ganda showed her vulnerable side.

Asked if breadwinners like her experience mental health problems, Vice agreed. And how did she cope up with it? “I underwent therapy,” she said.

“I am still undergoing therapy.

Vice stressed she’s not ashamed to admit that she’s continuously seeking help through therapy.

“Ano namang nakakahiya kung nagthe-therapy ako? Yeah nagthe-therapy ako and I’m proud of it. Going to a therapy, or seeking help sa isang psychiatrist, psychologist o sa isang professional, should be as normal as going to the dentist,” Vice stressed.

And in the process of preparing for the movie, since it will require Vice to pour out different emotions throughout the emotionally-packed scenes, Vice had a workshop with director Jun Lana and acting coach Malou de Guzman.

“It was very hard at that time,” Vice briefly paused and looked like she was trying to fight her tears from falling. “Nung nag-workshop ako sa kanya that was the time, I was about to restart my therapy.

De Guzman said the workshop with Vice was a very special moment for her.

Thank God, I was instrumental sa kanyang pag-explore at pag-discovery. Kailangan 'yung kaibuturan, 'yung honesty, lumabas 'yun. Doon nabuksan siya,” said de Guzman.

At ang laking biyaya na nasa cast siya, kasi nandun siya to guide me all the way.

‘And The Breadwinner Is...’ hits cinemas on December 25 as part of the 50th edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival.
