“When this was offered to me, age factor, I wanted a role na babagay sa akin. Also a role that will still challenge me. Ano pa character na ma-inspire ako to do it—perfect ito. Na-challenge ako doing this,” Vilma teased in an interview in Quezon City, Tuesday.

Santos-Recto explained that "Uninvited" director Dan Villegas, along with the directors from co-producer Project 8, pushed her to explore new dimensions and depths in tackling her character and performance.

“Heavy 'yung movie and character na ginampanan ko. But malaki factor dito is paano ako minotivate ng director ko — si Dan Villegas. First time ako nakaramdam ng director na hinahanapan ako ng bago — if I can offer something different. Not the usual. 'Yun motivation binigay ni direk Dan. Para iba and maibigay ko a different Eva,” she said.

The veteran actress revealed that the intensity of the scenes also caused her blood pressure to spike to 140/90.

“Noong shinu-shoot namin ito, 'yung BP ko umabot 140/90. Dahil sa scene. Wala sila choice but to pack. Ano pa ba challenge. I-pack up na sabi, sabi ko hindi po! Ayoko kasi sila gumastos pa. We had to pack up kasi 140/90 dahil sa eksena. Pero dahil God is good, nagawa naman na ulit. I am proud of it,” she recalled.
