Erik Matti hopes to develop more movies next year

<p>MANILA —  Award-winning director-producer Erik Matti is hoping to develop more films this coming 2025.</p><p>According to Matti, they finished a series with actress Judy Ann Santos last year and currently doing &quot;Buy Bust 2&quot; with Anne Curtis.   </p><p>&quot;Yun &#x27;yung adaptation na isa (Call My Manager). So we finished that a year ago but we&#x27;re linking &#x27;Call My Manager&#x27; with &#x27;On The Job&#x27; kasi ang lungkot naman na iisa lang &#x27;yung project. So both of those projects will be announced simultaneously kung kailan &#x27;yung released date. So we have a few lined up. We don&#x27;t know yet which one goes first. Of course, excited na kami ni Dondon mag-start ng isang movie. Simple lang muna,  horror and then move on from there. We have a lot on our plate actually. So may zombie movie, may historical movie, may war movie,  may mga ganoon, alam mo &#x27;yon.  The last few years namin puro series, we want to do something medium in scale na hindi naman cast of thousands,&quot; Matti said.</p><p>In the interview, Matti also answered the question if he thinks that the Philippine Cinema is now surviving.  </p><p>&quot;We are still waiting for a year na healthy &#x27;yung lahat ng movies not just &#x27;yung tried and tested. Kasi tried and tested &#x27;yung mga pairing ngayon, hindi ba? &#x27;Yung talagang the audience ay will go out of their homes, go to the cinemas and decide to really watch a particular movie not just because it&#x27;s a love team,&quot; Matti said.</p><p>Matti is currently busy promoting the horror movie  &quot;Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital,&quot; an official entry to this year&#x27;s Metro Manila Film Festival.
