MANILA -- Kapamilya actor Enrique Gil is making his teleserye comeback and will start taping next year.

"Actually co-produced namin ito with ABS-CBN, my concept kaya excited ako rito," Gil told ABS-CBN News in an interview on the sidelines of a media conference for his upcoming horror film "Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital."

"Gusto ko action siya, pero action-comedy, medyo may pagka-lightness. Kasi usually super bigat lagi ng mga action so I wanted it medyo siyempre may romcom involved, kailangan 'yon sa TV eh, pero it's kumbaga medyo Ryan Reynolds-ish na may lightness but there's some mafia involved," Gil said.

According to Gil, they are going to shoot some scenes in Europe in March 2025.

Asked of who will be part of the series, Gil said: "Mayroon na leading lady pero I don't think kung pwede pa. Hindi ko pa nakakausap. Nagmi-meeting kasi sila, nagpo-promo kami. So hindi ko alam kung pwede nila sabihin but  as far as I know -- yes, may naka-lock in na for that. Excited na daw siya, nagti-training na raw, nagre-ready na." Gil said.

Possible collaboration project with Liza Soberano

In the interview, Gil also answered question about his possible collaboration with former onscreen partner Liza Soberano.

Asked to give update on his plan of co-producing a horror project with Soberano, the actor replied: "Yes, she is interested but she is in the US right now, she's in LA. But we talked about it for a bit. Yeah, she is interested but she is there right now."

"So who knows maybe next year. Sana kung may time," he added.

Gil is currently busy promoting his horror movie "Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital," an official entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival. It opens in cinemas on Christmas Day, December 25.
