Filipino hatmaker Harvy Santos was among who helped create the hats for the blockbuster musical film Wicked.

"I'm originally from the Philippines. My fascination for costumes started when I was six," he shared in a video uploaded by Make It Universal on Instagram.

Harvy used to be a ballet dancer in Hong Kong. He relayed that through the money he earned from dancing, he would buy books on garment construction and costume design.

Harvy served as a Senior Milliner for Wicked. "Millinery is like sculpture, you start playing with materials. You start playing with cardboards to experiment with shapes," he explained.

"Up 'til this point, it's fascinating, it's still challenging, and I quite like those challenges 'cause I get to be inventive and creative with it," he highlighted.

Harvy expressed his excitement to be part of Wicked. "Every day, I'm proud of what I have accomplished, and knowing the fact that you are contributing on an epic film, that's very exhilarating," he stated.

Wicked fans online were quick to commend Harvy's work for the musical film.

"Wow... You're such a talent. Keep it up," one fan said.

"Spectacular work... 🔥❤️🔥 so inspired and inspiring ☝🏽🥰," another fan wrote.

Harvy studied millinery at Kensington and Chelsea College. The Filipino hat maker worked for The Royal Opera House, Noel Stewart, and Stephen Jones.

In 2013, he was honored as HAT Magazine's Designer of the Year.

Wicked is a musical fantasy film directed by Jon M. Chu.

It is the first installment of a two-part adaptation of the stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman, inspired by Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, which reimagines L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

The film focuses on the first act of the musical and stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda.

Other cast members include Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Peter Dinklage, and Jeff Goldblum.
