Belle Mariano on working with Donny Pangilinan again

<p>As one of the stars of the new ABS-CBN Studios and Original Viu series <em>How to Spot a Red Flag</em>, actress Belle Mariano admitted she really enjoyed her latest role as the independent and outspoken barista that gets town torn between two men— a confident bad boy (played by Jameson Blake) and the charming boy-next-door (Donny Pangilinan)—who are also both catfishing her.</p><p>The series delves into the predicament of her still hoping to find genuine love despite noticing the red flags in her situation.</p><p>“<em>Family-oriented si Cha. Matulungin siya sa family niya. Second is passionate siya sa kung anong gusto niya gawin. Sa cafe niya, sa pagtulong sa parents niya. Minsan passionate din siya sa love. During the event, the cast also admitted having to shoot their scenes during the time there was a typhoon. </p><p>“<em>Hindi pa kasi ako nakakapunta ng La Union, ever. First time ko makapunta ng La Union and grabe ang dami kong nasubukan dun. First time ko mag-surf. Parang na-in love ako sa lugar. So mas naging in touch ako sa character kong si Cha and the story. Parang while reading the script kinikilig na ako. What more if panuorin namin ang ganda ng connection ng lahat ng characters namin. Grabe din yung alon kasi sa La Union, sobrang taas talaga. Nung time na yun, yun ata yung magandang alon. Hindi mo naman puwede i-peke yung kilig di ba? Totoo, kinikilig ako sa scenes namin. And we do rehearse yung actions and yung lines namin but I do think what makes it natural is that kung paano kami mag-react sa isa’t isa. I’m just really happy that I get to do this with him and I’m grateful that I have him in my life</em>.”</p><p>Belle also shared her opinion and advice on what to do when you encounter people who are walking red flags in real life.</p><p>“<em>Alam mong masasabi mong red flag ang isang tao pag hindi ka comfortable eh, comfortable sa ginagawa niya, kung hindi ka nagiging comfortable sa kung paano ka niya tratuhin. Be honest with him or her. Huwag na tayo mag-pabebe (laughs). Just say what you like and what you don’t like and I think it would be a good help to them to reflect on what they do,</em>” she added. </p><p><em>How to Spot a Red Flag </em>is the first Viu local original series between ABS-CBN and Viu after successful partnerships for the Philippine adaptations of <em>The Broken Marriage Vow</em>, <em>Flower of Evil</em>, and <em>What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim</em>.
