MANILA -- Fusing music and mission, Filipino indie folk-pop band Ben&Ben is set to headline a benefit concert hosted by Caritas Philippines’ Alay Kapwa on July 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Titled “Pagdiriwang ng Pag-asa,” the concert is part of Alay Kapwa’s 50th anniversary celebration and will serve as a fundraiser for the organization’s initiatives, including providing holistic programs to marginalized communities.

Ben&Ben vocalists Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin Guico were recently announced as the ambassadors of Alay Kapwa during the organization’s media event at the University of Santo Tomas on June 4, defining their partnership as a “full-circle moment."

“‘Yung music at kung para saan siya, para sa amin tali ‘yun e. Parang, for us, we strongly believe na walang music na music lang. ...Minsan, bukod sa pagpapasaya, ‘yung musika may power siya to support causes,” Miguel said.

Ben&Ben also offered their new song "Sa Kapwa Ko Ay Alay" to the people, which aims to amplify the message of the spirit of giving. The song serves as well as Alay Kapwa’s theme song for their charity campaign.

Meanwhile, Ben&Ben recently kicked-off “The Traveller Across Dimensions” world tour, with five stops across both local and overseas, from May 24 to June 22. Paolo and Benjamin stated that a portion of proceeds from their world tour will go to Alay Kapwa’s initiatives.

“We are ambassadors, but how we always approach charity is whether anyone is looking or not, it's something you always do out of your heart and your desire to do it — baon namin siya kahit saan kami magpunta,” Paolo said.

Among the other artists joining the lineup for the upcoming benefit concert are Noel Cabangon, Kuh Ledesma, Erik Santos, Gerald Anderson, Jolina Magdangal, Bianca Gonzalez, and Gabbi Garcia.
