Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi to hold Manila fan meet on May 17

Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi is set to return to the Philippines in May for his fan meeting tour, the event's local producer announced Wednesday.

The event will be held at the SM Skydome in Quezon City on May 17, Ovation Productions said in an X post.

"This is your chance to meet the dashing and talented Kentaro Sakaguchi up close!" it wrote in the post.

Ticket prices have yet to be announced, but a pre-sale will be held via Wish Us Luck on April 13. The general sale will begin on May 2 through SM Tickets' website and outlets.

Sakaguchi earlier announced his fan meeting tour—which will also make stops in Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia and South Korea—through a post on his Instagram account.

The 33-year-old actor last visited the country in December 2023 for the Asia Artist Awards, held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Sakaguchi began his career as a model before transitioning to acting. He has since taken on lead roles in the Japanese remake of the South Korean series "Signal," as well as in dramas such as "Only Just Married," "Dr. Chocolate," and "Code Japan: The Price of Wishes." His film credits include "The Last 10 Years" and "Side by Side."

In 2024, he notably starred in the South Korean romance melodrama "What Comes After Love."
