The upcoming Eraserheads: Electric Fun Music Festival is not your typical concert. Set for May 31, fans and concertgoers can expect stellar performances as veteran and emerging Original Pilipino Music (OPM) artists will join the Filipino rock band in one grand event.

Six veteran artists from the Philippine music landscape are expected to perform their timeless hit songs. They are Basti Artadi, Dong Abay Music Organization, Imago, Moonstar88, and The Itchyworms.

Fans will also be treated to performances from new generation artists including Blaster, Carousel Casualties, Alyson, Party Pace, Pinkmen, and Sa Vie.

In a press release on Thursday, April 3, organizers revealed that the artists that will be featured in the concert were specially handpicked by the Filipino rock band members themselves.

Claiming to be the “grandest and most unforgettable celebration of OPM,” the fusion of seasoned and rising artists aims to show its spectators the evolution of Filipino music through the years.

Inviting music lovers to grab this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the Eraserheads concert will highlight the veteran artists’ “experience, craftmanship and undeniable connection with the audience.”

It will also give recognition to the “burst of energy and fresh sound” that new rising artists offer in the local industry.

Happening on the last Sunday of May, it will be held outdoors at the SMDC Festival grounds in Parañaque City.

Concert tickets have been made available exclusively via PalawanPay since March 29.

Early-bird purchasers will be entitled to a five-percent discount. The said promo is only available until April 16.

SVIP and VIP ticket holders will enjoy special perks during the concert, including an exclusive soundcheck experience and access to air-conditioned tents.

The Eraserheads first announced the concert details during the end credits for their documentary film Eraserheads: Combo On The Run, where they concurrently revealed that they will release a new song soon.

Details regarding the upcoming song have not been disclosed yet, but it will be their first song after 11 years after “Sabado” and “1995” were released in 2014.

In an interview, Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia declared that the reunion of the rock band members, who previously parted ways, is “for good.”

"By this time I think, tama na yung reunion-reunion na yan, wala nang huling-huling el bimbo, we’re here to stay…Until we decide to break up again, that is. (laughs),”he said.

The last local Eraserhead concert, which was named after their hit song “Huling El Bimbo,” was held at SMDC Festival Grounds in December 2022. Thousands of fans attended the concert.
