“Well, first of all it’s my first love. So to be able to do Next to Normal really just made me happy. Kasi nga, sabi ko it’s nice to be back to doing what I love after 14 years and looking forward, I would love to do one again. Everyone’s actually asking for a re-run. Ang daming nag-re-request. But I don’t know. Let’s see. If schedules permit. So year hopefully this will be the start of me doing theater again. Not taking another 14 years before I do another one again (laughs),” she told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.

The 44-year-old actress also says she has never been picky about who she wants to work with, whether it be on screen or on the stage.

“I haven’t worked with a lot of (theater) actors yet that I would love to work with in the future. New ones, old ones, okay lang sa akin. As long as it’s a good material and minsan naman kahit konti lang yung part ko, especially if yung director is a friend and somebody I know, I do it. I’d do it in a heartbeat. Sa stage naman parang kahit sino. I’d love to work on another stage play,” she admitted.

In an Instagram post, she celebrated the milestone in her career with this message, “It's been quite a journey for me—I've had the privilege to work with so many great actors I only saw on TV and directors whose names I only saw on shows and movies I watched, done quite a few roles I never thought I could, launched an album (yes, singer yarrrrrn?!), did a few musicals (not known to many, I started with theater) and travelled to some parts of the world I've only dreamt of and seen on post cards and text books. I will never forget to celebrate this day because in this industry where no one is indispensable, it is a beautiful reminder that patience, professionalism, the right attitude towards co-workers and hard work really goes a long way and that I am still here... For that, I will always, ALWAYS be grateful. 💕💕💕”

Nikki took advantage of her downtime during Holy Week by spending time with family. “I think this year we’re just going to stay home. We have no plans. We’d like to take this time to reflect na medyo quiet. Wala talaga kaming plans,” she admitted.
