With holy week just around the corner, some Kapamilya celebrities see the upcoming occasion as an opportunity to take a break from their hectic schedules.

Singer-songwriters Esang and James Philippe de Torres plan to maximize the chance to rest at home during the Lenten season.

In an interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, James emphasized that rest is crucial for music artists like them as it is their way of regaining strength and motivation when writing and composing songs.

“Rest is very important kasi doon po namin nakukuha ang energy,” he said. “Kasi after busy weeks, our social batteries (are) also getting drained. Lagi kaming family, especially kapag holy week, nagsasama-sama kami sa bahay, sabay-sabay kumakain. Kasi ang father ko may work, so kapag ka may ganitong chance na mabuo kami, sabay-sabay kaming kumakain.”

He continued: “Minsan kapag ka-nagco-compose, kapag ka drained 'yung brain, nahihirapan ka talaga mag-isip ng lyrics, ng melody so tini-take namin 'yung chance na yun to rest, para makapag-unwind kami, masarap magsulat ng songs kapag ganon.”

Agreeing to her brother’s sentiments, Esang also pointed out that taking a pause is beneficial for their “creative process.”

Meanwhile, former Kapamilya child star Heart Ramos, who is now a full-time high school student, said in a separate interview that the holy week is best shared with family.

“Just creating moments with my family and also resting because that is the most important thing, especially (since) I’ve been busy with my studies,” she said.

Revealing how her faith has been a big part of her life, the 13-year-old actress shared that she has been praying for future projects with ABS-CBN.

“I’m always wishing na sana po many projects to come and sana po I get to learn with veteran artists,” she said.

According to Heart, her habit of praying traces back to her childhood saying, “When I was a kid, my mom taught me to pray, to always pray at night.”

The said celebrities all attended the block screening organized by Star Magic for the movie My Love Will Make You Disappear at Ayala Malls Vertis North on Sunday, April 6.

The movie’s main stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino told entertainment reporters in a separate interview that they both have no plans yet for the holy week.

The love team, fondly called “KimPau” by their fans, is bound to Dubai to attend their movie’s international screenings organized by The Filipino Channel (TFC).
