More than just expressing himself with his tube top matched with wide-leg pants and eye-catching cape, Bong told PUSH ABS-CBN that despite it being new to him, he pursued the look for one purpose: to inspire.

“Actually napag-usapan din namin ‘yun kasi first time ko mag-tube tapos in front of the public nga ‘yon. So sabi ko, ilaban na natin kasi you never know eh, you never know kung sino ang mai-inspire na mga batang kekisaur (a slang word he popularized which means 'gay') na ‘ay kaya pala ng mga kekisaur na rumampa sa ABS-CBN Ball,” he said.

Bong has already mustered enough confidence to express his identity, but the process did not happen overnight. According to him, he drew inspiration from the queer icons that he has been looking up to.

“Hindi naman ako magiging confident kung hindi ko na experience na makakita din ng ginagawa ‘yung mga nagawa ko,” he said. “Sila Meme (Vice Ganda), ‘yung mga queer icons dito sa Philippines na nag-pave way talaga for me to have that confidence na gawin ‘yun sa mga platforms na ganun.”

“Actually, ang inspiration po talaga namin ay si Ariana (Grande) sa Oscars 2024. Tapos, binago namin ‘yung kulay kasi spring kasi ‘yung theme so gusto namin maging tubig para mag-blossom ‘yung mga flowers,” he said, also showing his fun personality.
