Major stars from the Korean entertainment industry are set to take over Manila this April, as they head to the Philippine capital for their respective highly anticipated events.

J-Hope of the phenomenal K-pop band BTS will mount the Manila leg of his “Hope on the Stage” tour at the Mall of Asia Arena on April 12 and 13.

With the event, J-Hope becomes the first BTS member to return to the Philippines in almost eight years. The septet, most of whom are currently fulfilling their mandatory military service, last visited the country in 2017 as part of their “Wings” tour.

Lee Min-ho, a K-drama superstar who gained prominence through the hit series “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009, is also heading to the country for his “Minhoverse” fan meeting tour.

Min-ho’s event will take place at the Mall of Asia Arena on April 26.

In a promotional video for the event, the 37-year-old actor told his Filipino supporters he would “prepare well and come meet you to give you a happy time and precious memories.”

Kyuhyun, a member of veteran K-pop hitmakers Super Junior, is also returning to the Philippines for his “Colors” solo concert tour.

The show, which celebrates Kyuhyun’s 10th year as a soloist, will take place at the New Frontier Theater on April 5.

Filipino singer Moira dela Torre, known for her soothing, airy vocals and heartbreak ballads, has been announced as a special guest at Kyuhyun’s upcoming concert.

Kyuhyun previously visited Manila in July 2023 for Super Junior’s “fan party” at the Araneta Coliseum.

Rising stars

Rising K-pop acts are also set to make their debut in the Philippine concert scene, starting with girl group Kiss of Life, who are bringing their “Kiss Road” concert tour to the UP Theater on April 4.

The four-piece act has been making waves in K-pop with their fierce image and songs that typically blend hip-hop and R&B. Some of their standout tracks include “Midas Touch,” “Sticky,” and “Igloo.”

NCT Wish, the latest sub-unit to come out of megagroup NCT, will also hold their “Log In” concert at the New Frontier Theater on April 12.

Launched in February 2024, the six-member boy band has dished out songs that exude a bright and youthful energy, such as “Songbird” and “Wish.”
