Photo from IAM WorldwideSouth Korean superstar Song Joong-ki is coming to Manila in May for an event that will mark his first live appearance in the Philippine capital, organizers said Tuesday.

The event, titled "IAM Song Joong-ki: Live in Manila," will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 24, said IAM Worldwide, the local health and wellness brand that Joong-ki endorses.

"We are beyond thrilled to bring Song Joong-ki to Manila for his first-ever live appearance," IAM officials said in a statement.

"Filipino fans have shown incredible passion for his work and this event is our way of celebrating that bond," they said.

Fans can expect an "evening full of surprises, laughter and fan memories that will surely last a lifetime," the company's officials added.

Tickets may be availed only through IAM Worldwide product purchases, with a presale happening from March 28 to April 6 for members. The general sale will open on April 7.

The announcement comes a day after IAM unveiled the 39-year-old actor as its newest brand ambassador.

Joong-ki, considered as one of the highest-profile stars in South Korean entertainment, is known for starring in dramas such as "Descendants of the Sun," "Vincenzo" and "Reborn Rich."
