Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy is set to return to the Philippines for his Just Being Koy Tour scheduled at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on June 21.

Live Nation Philippines made the announcement, promising an unforgettable comedy experience for Filipino fans.

"Get ready, Manila! Jo Koy is set to deliver non-stop laughs in an unforgettable night of comedy!  More details soon! For more info, visit www.livenation.ph," the events organizer posted.

Jo Koy last performed in the Philippines in August 2022, as part of his Funny Is Funny world tour.

In a previous interview with ANC, Jo Koy shared how deeply personal his Funny Is Funny tour was to him. 

"This is more of me, personal. Also, telling my story of how hard it was, the struggle in this business. You get to see that before we get those hours, that’s one thing I’m really proud about this is my fourth special and I get to go to the Philippines and do it live before everyone gets to see it on Netflix," he said about the tour in a previous interview with ANC.

His film Easter Sunday also held a red carpet premiere in Manila. In a past interview with Inquirer, Jo Koy explained why he considers representing Filipinos in mainstream Hollywood an important feat.

"For the most part, you don’t really get offers for these roles—they simply don’t exist. So, all you can do is pitch your stories and hope to God somebody would be willing to help you realize your pitch, especially when you’re not the majority color," he explained.

Jo Koy added: "If you’re Filipino, you won’t get any offers, so you’ve got to create your own idea and figure out a story that they’d be willing to support. That’s why I also want to have my hands behind the camera, to help open doors for others."

Jo Koy first performed in the Philippines in January 2020 during his Just Kidding tour, where he held live shows in Manila and Cebu.
