Liana Barrido hopes to celebrate the strength and spirit of Filipinos with her national costume for the Miss Tourism International 2024 pageant. 

The Philippine representative looks stunning in her "Halimuyak" ensemble which is inspired by the sampaguita, the Philippines' national flower. 

Designed by Jhaymer Ferrer Lui, the costume "stands as a powerful representation of Filipino grace and pride," according to Barrido's Instagram post on Monday. 

"The soft, white petals symbolize purity and simplicity, while the intricate design showcases the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of the Filipino people," her post read. 

"From its elegant silhouette to the detailed embroidery, each element tells a story of tradition, resilience, and the timeless beauty of the Philippines." 

Mutya ng Pilipinas, for its part, noted that the "Halimuyak" costume highlights the elegance of their latest Philippine delegate. 

Barrido will aim for the Miss Tourism International 2024 crown in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 15.

Last year's Philippine representative, Jeanette Reyes, won Miss Tourism Metropolitan International, one of the five titles in the competition. The Tia Li Taveepanichpan of Thailand won the top crown.
