"Gracefully powerful." 

This is how The Miss Philippines described its latest delegate, Kayla Carter, as she took part in the preliminary competition of Miss Charm 2024 in Vietnam on Wednesday, December 18.  

The Filipina beauty queen wore a pink bikini during the swimsuit round, showcasing her pasarela skills as she slayed the runway.

During the evening gown round, Carter looked stunning in her sparkly dress by local designer Mara Chua. 

According to Chua, Carter's evening gown for the prelims is inspired by the Tree of Souls from James Cameron's hit movie "Avatar."

"I drew parallelisms from the Tree being a physical manifestation of the interconnectedness of all life forms with the Filipino Diaspora, a phenomenon that Kayla and millions of Filipinos around the world are a part of," she said in an Instagram post. 

Carter was appointed Miss Charm Philippines last July after her Top 20 finish in the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant. 

Her predecessor, Annabelle McDonnell, finished as first runner-up in Miss Charm 2023. Luma Russo of Brazil won the inaugural edition of the pageant. 

The Miss Charm 2024 competition kicked off last December 9 and will conclude on December 21.
