TikTok celebrates Filipino content creators at 2024 thanksgiving event

MANILA -- Filipino content creators and businesses that have made a significant impact on TikTok in 2024 were honored at a special Thanksgiving celebration held in Makati on Tuesday.

The event highlighted the hard work, creativity, and vision of individuals and groups whose contributions have resonated with millions of users on the platform.

The awards ceremony spotlighted both influencers and small business owners, serving as a tribute to those who have inspired others and set new standards for what’s possible on TikTok. 

Among the awardees are some of the Philippines’ most innovative and influential content creators.

Arshie Larga, a licensed pharmacist known for his informative and advocacy-driven content, shared his commitment to continuing his efforts to provide free medicines to those in need. 

“I assure you po na yung mga donations niyo po ay napupunta pa din sa mga taong deserving na matulungan,” he said during his acceptance speech, adding that he plans to release an accountability post by the end of 2024 to show how the donations were distributed.

She expressed her gratitude for the recognition, noting that the business began with selling home-cooked Bicolano food. 

“This is really a milestone for a business that is rooted from selling cooked food in Bicol,” said Ricohermoso.

Jax Reyes, known for his content on credit cards and personal finance, shared his vision of using his platform to uplift Filipinos through financial education. 

“[My] vision with personal finance, proper finance education, and proper use of credit, I believe that every Filipino will be uplifted and if we uplift every Filipino, we uplift the Philippines as a whole,” he remarked. “That’s the reason why I create these [kinds] of content and make it very easy to understand.”

Other awardees included Alta Philippines, renowned for its handcrafted leather shoes; Kuya Kim Atienza, famous for his fun and educational videos; and Love Yourself PH, a group dedicated to advocating for HIV testing and sexual health awareness. 

Icoy Rapadas, a home cook known for his unique twists on Filipino dishes, and Lenie Aycardo, who has captivated audiences with her makeup transformations, were also celebrated for their creativity and dedication.

The event underscored how TikTok has become a powerful platform for Filipino creators to share their passions, build businesses, and inspire others, making 2024 a year to remember for local talent.
