The Philippines remains a pageant powerhouse following the country's victory in two international competitions. 

Liana Barrido was crowned Miss Tourism International 2024 in Malaysia last December 13, on top of winning the Miss Vitality special award.

Now back in her hometown of Batangas after her win, Barrido took to social media to express her gratitude to all her fans and supporters.

"Grateful for all the love and support -- home will always be where my heart is," she said.

Barrido started out as a Binibining Lungsod ng Batangas titleholder in 2017, before winning the opportunity to compete in Miss Tourism International this year via Mutya ng Pilipinas. 

"This is for you, Philippines. Mabuhay!" she said, referring to her win, in a video posted by Mutya ng Pilipinas over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Patricia Payumo was proclaimed Miss Star International 2024 in Brazil last December 13.

The pageant aims to "give space" to transgender women around the world.
