<p>Award-winning actress Marian Rivera said she would give up everything for her children, Zia and Sixto, as she opened up about motherhood and family in an emotional conversation with ABS-CBN anchor Karmina Constantino on the podcast “KC After Hours.”</p><p>When asked how she wants to be remembered as a mother, a teary-eyed Rivera told Constantino: “Na kayang i-give up ni mama lahat para sa kanila. Kasi kaya ko talaga. Every time [na] kailangan nila ako -- alam ng set ‘yan -- ‘pag may kailangan sa school, hindi puwedeng wala ako. Kahit magalit sila sa akin, kailangan kong pumunta sa school.”</p><p>Rivera then told a story about her firstborn child Zia being assigned to speak in front of her class. Rivera was unable to attend due to her showbiz commitments, leaving Zia feeling sad.</p><p>“Sabi ni Zia, ‘Mama, mag-speech ako sa school.’ Sabi ko, ‘Sorry, anak. Mayroon akong shoot kasi.’ ‘I think I’m sick, mom. I can’t go.’ Sabi ko, ‘No, anak. Importante ‘yan kasi mag-speech ka sa whole class, eh.’ Tapos sabi niya, ‘No, mama. If you’re not there, it’s not worth it.’ So sabi ko, ‘Gawa ako paraan,’” Rivera revealed.</p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1756683759294image0.jpeg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><p>Rivera went on to share an eye-opening moment: “Doon ko na-realize na gagawin ko lahat para sa mga anak ko. Kaya kong i-give up lahat para sa mga anak ko.”</p><p>The &quot;Rewind&quot; actress then recalled her personal experience as a child without her parents supporting her in school activities, saying, “Kasi lumaki ako na wala akong parents, eh. ‘Pag may activity ako sa school, ‘pag may mga importante akong bagay na kailangang nandoon ‘yung parents, wala eh. Si nanay (grandmother) lang ‘yung nandoon. So, alam ko kung gaano kahirap at kasakit na walang parents na nagtsi-cheer para sa&#x27;yo. At ayaw kong maranasan ng mga anak ko ‘yan.”</p><p>Expressing her affection for her children on the show, Rivera stated, “Sobrang love na love ko ‘yung mga anak ko, eh. Na parang ‘pag iniisip mo na minsan nakakapagod naman talagang magtrabaho. ‘Yung parang puyat ka at dami mong ginagawa. Pero kailangan mong lumaban kasi gusto mong bigyan ng magandang future ‘yung mga anak mo.”</p><p>She added, “Gusto kong gawin lahat para sa kanila. Kasi ‘yan ‘yung wala ako nung bata ako, eh. Parang masyado akong naging matapang sa buhay na nasandalan ko lang [ay ‘yung] lola ko. Pero ‘yung parents talaga, wala talaga akong ganoon, eh. So parang ‘pag anak ‘yung pinag-uusapan, parang ito ‘yung pangarap ko na ibinigay ni Lord sa akin. So, pinagkaloob niya sa akin, gagawin ko ‘yung 100% ko para hindi ko siya biguin kasi gagawin ko lahat para sa mga anak ko. Kasi sobrang love ko ‘yung mga anak ko.”</p><div><strong>On losing her popularity </strong></div><p>Constantino additionally asked Rivera if she ever worried about losing popularity.</p><p>She answered by saying that her children are blessings to her and that whatever showbiz projects come her way, she will give it her all.</p><p>“The mere fact na binigay ni Lord ‘yung dalawang anak ko at asawa ko, kumpleto ‘yung buhay ko. So, ano man ang ibigay sa akin, bonus na talaga lahat. At ipagpapasalamat ko ‘yan. Pero sabi ko nga, hanggang kaya, hanggang may offer, hanggang may trabaho, why not? Gagawin ko ‘yung 100% ko kasi ganoon ako magtrabaho. Kasi may dalawang anak pa ako. Gusto kong magkaroon sila ng magandang future talaga. So, ‘yun ang aking goal ngayon. Kaya, ‘yung drive ko sa pagtatrabaho, eh, 100% pa rin,” she said.</p><p>The A-lister also revealed that she and her husband, actor Dingdong Dantes, have always been supportive of younger stars, and that being surrounded by them does not put her under any kind of pressure.</p><p>“Parang ayaw kong isipin ‘yung napi-pressure ako kasi ang daming bago, ang daming bagets, ang daming bago. Parang hindi. Ang gusto nga naming mag-asawa, i-extend ‘yung knowledge namin, ‘yung natutunan namin sa tagal namin sa industriya. Kaya minsan, once in a while, may mga Gen Z kami na ini-invite sa bahay. We give advice [kung] bakit kami nagtagal nang ganito sa showbiz,” she said.</p><p>She added, “‘Yung asawa ko talaga ‘yung isa sa mga pasimuno na kailangan natin tulungan ‘tong mga batang ‘to. Kailangan natin silang i-guide. May ganoon kasi ang asawa ko. ‘Yung mga batang ito, mga malapit din naman talaga sa akin. So, hindi kami nagkukulang to reach out. Na parang, ‘Okay. Let’s get together.’ Punta sa bahay. Magdi-dinner kami. Mag-uusap-usap. May mga ganoon kami. Pero after nun, happy-happy naman. Mag-videoke kami. Kakain kami.”</p><p>Rivera began her career as a commercial model before landing her first role on television.
