Former actress Rica Paralejo couldn’t help getting sentimental as she reunited with her former pet dog named “Waffle” who has found a new home and family.  

In an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday, June 3, the actress said that their reunion was the “highlight” of everything that has happened in their lives in May.  

“Two days of what could have been our whole life with Waffy,” she wrote. “May’s highlight was reuniting with the other #BoniBro.” 

The decision to let Waffle go was a tough one for Rica, noting that it was her first time rehoming a dog.  

“I didn’t want to do (it) at all but (I) also [admit] that I had to do (it),” she said. “I had no bandwidth and space to give him a fair life in our home.” 

“Although I did say I would make a way if I never found good fur parents [for] him. But the ‘problem’ was I found something better than [our] home for him. They are actually perfect for my Waffy,” she added.  

Rica is happy that her former fur baby is now in a better state, under the care of his new fur parents.

“He is living such a wonderful life today which makes me very very happy as his first mom,” she remarked.  

However, the actress admitted that she is still haunted by the “what could’ve beens” in her mind. 

“At the same I miss him and (I) always wonder what we could be doing right now if he stayed with us. ‘Di yata maiiwasan ‘yun,” she admitted.  

In the same post, Rica expressed her gratitude to the couple who adopted her former pet.

“Thank you deeply for letting us see him and even taking our photos with him @anndelros @richardgarcia7,” she expressed.  

“Above all, thank you for giving Waffle the best life he could ever have! I am so happy to have made the best decision for him,” she added.  

In her post’s comment section, Richard Garcia reciprocated Rica’s gratitude.  

“Thank you for entrusting Waffy to us, ate,” he expressed. “He has brought so much joy in our lives as well. Know that he’s only a drive away.”
