As one of the stars of the top-rated action series Incognito, Daniel Padilla said he has no regrets finally venturing into doing full-fledged action series after more than a decade of doing romantic drama. Despite showcasing his talent in doing gruelling action scenes for the past four months with his role as the passionate Andres Malvar in Incognito, DJ still doesn’t consider himself an action star.

“This genre is new to me and na-enjoy ko naman itong genre na ito. It’s just a role also. I enjoy doing action. Very physical,” he shared during the Incognito mid-season presscon held last April 7 in Quezon City.

The Incognito star also talked about his experience shooting in the Yamagata prefecture in Japan which had them shooting in negative degree weather.

Kasama yun. Kasama yung madudulas. Hindi mo maiiwasan. Talagang yelo yung dinadaanan mo. Yun yung nagpapatotoo dun sa action eh,” he said.

Having shot the series in locations in and outside the country like Palawan, Benguet, Italy, and Japan, DJ admitted the experience was worth getting over the challenge of shooting in extreme weather conditions.

“It was all worth it, grabe. Yung sa Japan, sobrang lamig, sa Itogon, sobrang init. Walang gitna. Parehong sobrang ganda. Hanggang ngayon proud pa rin ako sa show na ito!” he added.

The 29-year-old actor revealed that working on Incognito had also bonded him closely with his co-stars like Richard Gutierrez and Anthony Jennings. This is why he would be open to doing more action projects with them in the future.

“Wala eh, iba na yung samahan namin lahat. Sabi nga ni Chard, we’re a unit. Totoo yun. Kahit saan kami dalhin, basta magkakasama, okay kami. At saka magtutulungan talaga. On and off sa set yun. Tapusin muna natin itong season 1 (laughs),” he said.

Watch Incognito on weeknights at 8:45 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, TFC, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL) on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Catch it in advance on Netflix and iWantTFC.
