Kapamilya actress Ruffa Gutierrez marked the birthday of her brother, Elvis, on her social media account earlier this week. The Can’t Buy Me Love star penned a heartwarming letter for her brother who’s celebrating his first birthday without his wife, Alexa.

Alexa passed away back in July 2024 after losing the battle to acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

In her post, Ruffa shared several photos of herself and her brother throughout the years–– from their younger days until the present. She acknowledged how different it must feel for her brother to celebrate his birthday without the presence of his wife.

“Your first birthday without Alexa beside you feels different, and I know it must be incredibly tough. 🥹 But I also know she’s smiling down on you today, proud of your strength and the love you continue to carry for her,” she wrote.

The Kapamilya actress then shared how proud she is of her younger brother who continues to power through for his two daughters. She maintained that she will always be there for him as a supportive sibling.

“You’ve always been the kindest, most genuine soul—and as your Ate, I just want you to know how proud I am of you. May this year bring healing, comfort, and more amazing memories with the girls,” she added.

Friends and fans sent their birthday wishes and messages in the comment section of Ruffa’s post.

Elvis has been vocal on social media about how he misses his wife. He previously penned a letter to his wife as he marked her 40th day.

“It’s the 40th day without you my love, I want to talk to you already, to ask how you are, and to tell you how we've been. I hope you can hear me when I talk to you. We have been missing you everyday, you really made us feel your love in every kiss, every hug and every 'I love you', i will hold on to that for as long as i live, I miss you so much,” he previously wrote.
