Bianca Gonzalez delivered a speech at this year’s World Health Day celebration, hosted by the World Health Organization Western Pacific, highlighting the critical importance of maternal and newborn care.

Expressing her deep gratitude, Bianca posted on social media: "Extremely honored to be invited to speak at this year’s #WorldHealthDay celebration at @whowpro. The theme 'Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,' resonates with me so much as a mother."

The television host also remarked how inspired she was by the stories shared by the other speakers.

"It was inspiring to hear representatives from the government, diplomatic corps, partners and WHO colleagues from around the region come together to push forward efforts to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths, and prioritize support for the well-being of mothers," she stated.

In her speech, Bianca opened up about her personal journey through motherhood. "I shared my own journey—through a challenging pregnancy and an emotional start to my daughter’s life—and I carry with me the stories of many other mothers who face even harder realities," she stated.

The Kapamilya star also stressed the urgent need to improve access to quality healthcare for mothers across the country and the region.

"Too many women in the Philippines and around the region do not have access to quality healthcare while they are pregnant and when they give birth, and that needs to change," she stated.

Bianca emphasized the collective responsibility as well that we all share. "We all have a stake in this—whether you’re a parent, a son or daughter, a friend or an advocate, we all play an important role in making mothers everywhere feel safe, supported and cared for during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond," she stated.

According to the who.int website, the Western Pacific Region is "one of the six regions of the World Health Organization," with its headquarters in Manila, Philippines. It works with "health authorities and other partners in 37 countries and areas, serving more than one quarter of the world’s population."
