Before entering the Pinoy Big Brother house, AZ Martinez admitted that she was highly dependent on her loved ones. This is one thing she wanted to improve in herself.  

“Gusto ko talaga ma-try ang new things, new experiences, new challenges kasi feel ko sobrang — hindi naman sa sobrang spoiled — pero feel ko sobrang dependent ako with the people around me, like ‘yung mom ko and friends. So, it’s something new to try without them, without the people I’m comfortable with,” she said.  

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, the actress acknowledged her involvement in the reality show as the “biggest opportunity” she ever received in her two-year career in the showbiz industry.  

“Ito ‘yung biggest opportunity that I have had. Feeling ko mag-iiba talaga. I hope mag-iba talaga ang buhay ko,” she said.  

As an avid viewer of the show, AZ revealed that her desire to become part of PBB was driven by her curiosity to explore the life inside.  

“Dream ko talaga sumali ng PBB kasi growing up lagi akong nanonood, ‘yung time pa nila Kim Chiu. Then before nag-hotel arrest, pinapanood ko talaga ‘yung buong Gen 11. As in, sobrang ang saya, and curious talaga ako how life is sa loob ng PBB house. Kaya it’s something na gusto ko talaga dati pa, kaya pinaglaban ko talaga,” she narrated.  

Speaking of the life inside PBB house, the actress dared herself to beat the five-minute shower time allowance, which has always been observed since time immemorial.  

“What I’m looking forward to is ‘yung growth ko sa pagligo kasi five minutes lang ‘yung ligo. Ako po ‘pag naliligo parang almost one hour. Makikita ko talaga ang improvement at difference nun. Feel ko lalabas ako ng shower may sabon sabon pa yung katawan ko, may shampoo pa,” she said.  

AZ hoped that her fellow housemates would not be mad at her for such a reason.  

Furthermore, the PBB housemate revealed that it was no less than the Chinita Princess, Kim Chiu, who she has been looking up to since childhood.  

“Syempre si Kim Chiu kasi noong bata pa talaga ako, sobrang idol ko si Kim Chiu, gusto ko maging Kim Chiu. May tita ako na Chinese, parang Chinita din... I don’t know ang cute niya lagi tsaka ang ganda, very girl crush ko siya,” she said.
